‘We are passionate about animal welfare and soil-friendly farming as well as honest craftsmanship in order to produce high-quality, natural products.’

Five young people work with heart and passion on 30 hectares of arable and grassland at the organic certified farm Wurzeln und Hörner. They look after laying hens, goats, young cattle and bee colonies and process the milk in their own cheese dairy. This is where organic farming and community work come together – characterised by commitment and a love of nature.

The agroforestry system

Mainly fruit-bearing woody plants such as sweet chestnut, walnut and hazelnut to expand the product range. In addition to the tree fruits, the AFS will shed foliage fodder for the animals and create weather protection for the animals and arable crops.

Details → Planting the rows of trees parallel to the slope, which creates erosion protection and allows surface run-off water to be retained and stored in the area.
